LBMS played their final game of the 2016-2017 season on Monday, February 6th against Travis Middle School of Temple.

7B came together as a family once again to quickly outscore Travis in the first half 23-2. We went on to play a calm and concise offensive half ending the game 33-4 to secure the District Runner-Up title! Points were scored by nine players of LBMS in true team fashion. Grace Taylor scored 2, Shalese Rhoder 3, Laurel Farris 5, Yisel Valdez 2, Alyssa Vining 2, Dymantina Caldera 2, Lexi Lopez 7, Jameer McDade 8, and Emily Revis 2.

7A had a hard fought defensive game totaling in 21 fouls by the visiting team and 17 fouls by our home team. 1st quarter against Travis with the score only at 3-4 going into the 2nd quarter. Travis came out in the 2nd quarter scoring quick buckets that would put LBMS in a hole they would have to fight to get out of ending the half 19-3. LBMS closed the gap in the 3rd bringing it to 9-16 however, Travis widened it again in the 4th ending the game 12-33. LBMS points were scored by Ayanna Jones with 6, McKenzie Drake 1, and Megan Shelburne with 5.

Congratulations to all LBMS teams on a hard fought season, we look forward to seeing these girls again in the 8th grade gym next year as well as trying out for the high school team, on to track season!

8th grade B team keep close on the court with Travis during the first half; however, dominated the court in the second half winning 16-9. Points were scored by point guard Hailey Holt with 5, guard Kirsten Overstreet with 5, and posts Sarah Rivas with 2 and Audrey Rall with 4. Hailey Holt had a strong offensive game and Audrey Rall and Maggie Maine had many rebounds being aggressive on the defensive end. Player of the game was Shelby Littlefield with her defensive pressure and Kirsten Overstreet with her last second 3-point to seal the game.

8th grade A team had an all-out battle against Travis but pulled out the win with a final score of 30-24. Post Mckayla Seeliger was on fire with 10 points, point guard Abigail Cargile had 7, post Jenna Blank with 6, guard Ashley Perrier with 3, guard Savannah Grohmann with 2, and post Anaya Brown with 2. Lady Tigers worked hard to come together especially in the second half. The team pulled out a win to seal the season with all players fighting hard to the very end. Players of the game were the entire team.

The efforts and intensity of these girls in practice over the season lead to a great night against Travis. Thank you to the Lady Tigers for a great season!
