  • The coaching staff is so proud of Olivia’s accomplishments. She has been a vital part of our running program for the past 4 years. We can’t wait to see her compete and excel at the collegiate level.

Weston Lucas – UMHB – Football

Lucus

Weston was a 2 year varsity letterman for the Tigers. Weston is an extremely hard worker and very intelligent receiver. He could play any receiver position and not miss a beat. He was a pleasure to coach and always a lot of fun to be around.

Weston played outside receiver as a Jr, but his Sr year he moved inside to slot. He had an extremely productive Sr year. Came up with huge catch after huge catch on 3rd downs and in the red zone. He was a 8-6A 1st Team All District Selection.

Weston finished 2016 with 53 receptions for 518 yards, with a long of 41 and 7 TD dcf671cc2297803e-W-Lucas-199x300receptions. Weston helped the Tigers set several school records ( most points scored in a season 525, and most total yards in a season with 5,638.

Young Wes is going to continue his athletic and academic career at UMHB. Where we expect great things to continue for him. Through his hard work and great attitude.

Carson Hammond – Western Texas College – Basketball

Carson

Carson is a 3 year letter winner and 2 year starter for Belton High School Boy’s Basketball. This season Carson was named District 8-6A 1st Team, while averaging over 14 points and 2 steals a game. He also made137 three pointers while shooting over 33%. This is his 2nd All-District Honor in his high school career. Carson was a silent leader and captain of our team who let his hard work and sweet shooting stroke do the speaking for Headshot5him. It is on the shoulders of Carson that our Belton High School team had the most success this season. He also was instrumental in helping the team push through the adversarial times. He made coaching a lot more fun and a lot less challenging. My one and only regret is not being able to have coached Carson his entire high school career. We wish him the best of luck and have no doubt he will have tremendous success!

Izaiah Jones – Western Texas College – Basketball

Izaiah copy

Izaiah is a 3 year letter winner and became a starter this season before suffering a season ending injury. But the fact that he is up here today and pledging his commitment to Coach Headshot6Owens and Western Texas College, shows his persistence and true Tiger Tough never giving up spirit. With Izaiah on the floor we were 7-2, he was leading our team in rebounds and high fives. His unselfish nature and eagerness to do the dirty work helped set the foundation for this new Belton High School Basketball program.

Varney Carter – LeTourneau University – Soccer

Varney

  • Varney is a 2 year Letterman as well as a 2 year starter with for the Belton Boys Soccer Team
  • In 2016 Varney was Awarded with a Honorable Mention All District as a Mid-Fielder
  • This Season he was Awarded with 2017 1st All District Honors as a Mid-Fielder
  • Varney also excels in the classroom and was named to the All State Academic Team for 2017
  • Varney Carter was one of the few players with varsity experience coming into the 2017 season. He played an intricate role in winning the District 8 AAAAAA Championship.
  • 7 goals this season with 10 assist and created many scoring opportunities for his Headshot7teammate
  • Coaching Staff “Varney is a very special player and a respectable young man. He has a passion and love for the game that you’d want all your players to have. No matter where he was he had a soccer ball on his foot. A few times we received emails from Ms. Ross to remind Varney that ball play is for the field and not the School Building. We wish Varney the best in his future and want to thank him for his passion for Belton High School Soccer.

Please come be a part of a special day for our school district and our athletic department. We look forward to seeing you on Wednesday, 5-24-17, in the weight room of the Athletic Complex.
