The purpose of this web site is to inform you about the Athletic Training services and Sports Medicine Care available to your student-athlete at Belton High School.
One of the most recent new accomplishments is our moving to a completely electronic documentation of our athletics records with the exception of the physical exam. Please visit our FORMS link and it will direct you to our Rank One page and walk you through all the forms electronically. This will mean no longer signing paper copies and handing them to coaches or the athletic trainers.
As Members of the Tiger Sports Medicine Team, it is our role to provide an objective assessment of injured athletes and manage a safe return to competition. We attempt to maintain a balance between competitive edge in a sport and ensuring participant safety.
Athletic trainers concentrate on three main areas…prevention, assessment and rehabilitation of athletic injuries. We provide these services to all student athletes at Belton High School during the school year from 6:30 or 7:00 a.m. depending on which sport season to 5:00 p.m. In addition, all scheduled home games are covered by at least one professional athletic trainer. At no time is your student-athlete expected to make sports medicine decisions on their own accord. We are always available and happy to assist in any way possible.
We expect every student athlete whom requires rehabilitation for an athletic injury to attend AM treatments. These treatments begin at 7 a.m. with the exception of varsity and JV football which are required to report earlier typically 5:30 and will arise, and we are willing to address those issues as they present. Please understand, we require attendance to this morning treatment time as it will greatly benefit your student-athlete during their healing process.
In any non-emergency athletic injury we advise your student-athlete come to the athletic training room before any physician appointments are made. This allows several things to happen. First, it ensures all relevant parties are aware of the situation. Secondly, it allows us to begin the paperwork necessary for the BISD Secondary Insurance policy claims. In short, it provides us the opportunity to provide optimum care before, during and after the physician visit. If you feel that your student athlete should see a physician all we ask is to please take one of our referral forms with you. It shows the physician all of the types of treatments/rehabilitation we may provide.
It is very important that once your student-athlete visits a physician; whether it is initiated by a member of the Tiger Sports Medicine Team or not, a written document from a physician is required prior to returning to any school related activity. A school related activity includes any type of practice or games.
Belton ISD has purchased a SECONDARY insurance policy for all student athletes at Belton High School. All insurance claims for athletic injuries on this policy must be completed through the athletic training room. We ask that all non-emergency athletic injuries are seen in the athletic training room prior to any physician visits in hopes of relieving you any additional, extra physician costs.
We invite you to contact us anytime if question should arise. Whether it pertains to information contained in this site, or something that should arise during your students-athlete’s time at Belton High School. Please browse this site because we have placed several of our policies and procedures within. We hope you will find it useful and informative.
In closing, in order for your son or daughter to receive the optimum sports medicine care, we need both cooperation and communication. We will do our best to inform you anytime something may arise involving your student-athlete with either a written note or a phone call. Please contact us anytime you think we may be of service to you or your student-athlete.
Thank you for allowing us to work with both you and your son or daughter!
