We are very proud of these young men and women for the athletic and academic achievements.
Sidney Holman – Softball – Abilene Christian University
Sidney Holman has logged 3 seasons for the Tiger Softball team as the “Ace” for the squad. She will be lettering for her 4th time in the 2016 season. Sidney has compiled a record of 58 wins and 27 losses so far during her career. She has pitched 472 innings and has a 2.19 ERA. Strikeouts have become what she is most known for. She has pitched 28 games where she has had a total of 10 strikeouts or more. Her 3 year total is at 636 strikeouts.
In 2013, Sidney was selected district New Comer of the Year. In 2014, Sidney was named district Defensive MVP and Texas Sports Writers Association Honorable Mention Pitcher. In 2015, Sidney was Co-MVP of the district, a member of the Texas Girls Coaches Association All-State Softball team, and Texas Sports Writers Association Third Team All-State Pitcher.
Sidney will play her final season for Belton High School in the spring. After graduating, she will attend Abilene Christian University to continue her softball career.
Destynie Moore – Softball – Midwestern State University
Destynie Moore has been an outfielder for the Tiger Softball team for the past two seasons. Destynie will be lettering for the 3rd time in the 2016 season. Destynie came on strong for the Tigers in 2015 and established herself as the leadoff hitter and a base stealing threat. In the 2015 season, Destynie put up great numbers. She scored 30 runs, she had 16 stolen bases, a .366 on batting average and a .429 on base percentage. Destynie was instrumental in getting the Tiger offense started.
In 2015, Destynie was selected as a 1st-Team All-District Outfielder. She was also selected as a 1st-Team All-Area Outfielder by the Killeen Daily Herald.
Destynie has big goals in mind entering the 2016 season and has put in hard work in order to help lead the Tigers to a state championship. After Destynie graduates, she will attend Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls.
Briana Davis – Soccer – Texas A&M University
Ms. Briana Davis is signing to play Division 1 Soccer at Texas A&M University. Bri has been a member of the Varsity soccer team at Belton High School all 4 years. Bri’s work ethic and competitive nature has led her to achieve a great number of awards over the years. Bri has been a member of the Academic All District team all 3 years. She was named to the 1st Team all-district and 1st team all Area as a freshman, and was selected as the District Defensive MVP as a Sophomore. We know that Bri would have accomplished the same standards had she not been injuried and missed her Junior season. Bri’s leadership shows both on and off the field accumulating 3 goals and 32 shutouts helping set the school record for the most shutouts in a single season. Bri will be graduating in December to begin her college career, and while we will be sad to see her go, we know she is going to do great things!
Allison Waits – Volleyball – University of Incarnate Word
Allison Waits is a 3 year varsity letter winner here at Belton and will now be going to play at The University of Incarnate Word. Allison has overcome 2 ACL tears to become a leader in our volleyball program. This season, Allison led the team in kills with 295 kills and a 60% kill percentage. She also led the team in blocks with 143. Her work ethic, attitude and heart set a great example for the rest of the girls in our program. We will miss her skill as well as her leadership, but look forward to following her career at the next level.
Dalton Hankamer – Golf – University of San Diego
Dalton has been the #1 scoring golfer on Beltons team since his Jr year. Dalton has won individual honors in just about every tournament he has played in at Belton, and played a lead role in Tiger One’s fourth consecutive District Championship last Spring.
His most recent accomplishment was shooting back to back 67’s (nine under par two day total).
Dalton continues to improve to help guide Tiger One to another District title, and on through Regional to the State tournament. After graduation Dalton will head to the University of San Diego to continue his education. We are very proud of Dalton and his accomplishments.
Madison Smith – Golf – Dallas Baptist University
Madison Smith has been apart of the varsity team all four years. She began playing golf freshman year and worked very hard and diligently, ultimately dropping her scores from the 90’s freshman year to her low tournament round of one under (71) last year. She has helped lead the team to three district runner-up titles. Also, apart of the all-district team 3 years in a row, qualifying for regionals each year. Madison was named in the top 10 junior girls in Texas this past year and has competed in several American Junior Golf Tour events cross-country. She has decided to stay faithful to her commitment from her junior year to Dallas Baptist University and continue her golf career as a Lady Patriot!
