The lady tigers made the trip up to Waco tonight for the area playoff game against the SouthLake Carrol Dragons. Feeling nervous but confident, the girls started the game ready to play. The girls moved the ball around quickly, maintaining possession for a good chunk of the first half. Our forwards had a few decent shot opportunities, but couldn’t find the net. Halfway through the first half the Dragons managed to find a hole in our defense and put their first goal away. Fatigue and communication errors played a role in the next 3 goals, ending the first half at 4-0 for the Dragons.
The second half the lady Tigers came out with fire in their eyes, determined to leave their imprint on the Dragons. The girls played their hearts out and did everything in their power to take control of the game. The Lady Tigers finally made their mark from a corner kick by Rachel Ramm. Rachel played a short ball to Mattie Krenek who laid it off for her to shoot a shot with her left foot that hit the side net past the dragon goalie and defender. The second half play ended in a 1-1 tie, putting the final score at 5-1 for the Dragons.
Overall, it was an amazing season for the lady tigers! Their record on the season was 14-6-2. The girls and coaching staff want to say a huge thank you to all the parents, fans, and people who came out and supported us all season long! Without yall, we wouldn’t be as successful as we are! The coaching staff would also like to give a big shout out to our three seniors: Mattie Krenek, Emma Stinson, and Alyssa Briere. Thank you for yalls hard work these past four years! Yall are amazing and we wish you all the best in your future!!
