Multiple Teams · SBMS 8th vs Midway Red Game Results

The 8th Grade SBMS Tiger B team took on Midway Red last night at Rice Field. The Tigers came out with some tough defense getting big stops on the first two Panther drives. The offense came out running as well with powerful runs by Damien Martinez and heavy blocking by Don Mills, Adam Bosquez, and Raul Mendoza. The defense came up big in the 2nd half with an interception by Joseph Sandoval. The Tiger offense later capitalized on a huge tipped catch by Keshawn Alexander that he took the distance for a touchdown. In the end the Tigers fell short 18-7.

SBMS 8th A vs. Midway Red


SBMS traveled to Midway Tuesday to take on the Midway Red. Belton received the opening kickoff and drove 65 yards capped off by a 15 yard run by Alex Blazo to give the Tigers an early 7-0 lead. Midway would threaten on the ensuing drive but SBMS would stiffen before Midway could get to the red zone. SBMS second drive looked like a repeat of the first drive as they drove down the field once again to take a 14-0 lead. The second half the Tigers defense would step up and force four turnover and played great team defense. Logan Morales would come up with a huge interception as Midway was driving early in the second half. Andrew Mace and Alex Blazo would finish off Midway Red on the next drive by grinding out the game and the final score to make the final 21-0 to pick up their first win of the year in convincing fashion.


Players of the game-

Andrew Mace- 15 carries for 154 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Alex Blazo- 10 carries for 87 yards and a touchdown.

The entire O-line played great. Braxton Haynes, Nathaniel Tarrant, Montana Saucedo, Noah Rojas, Jesus Sandoval and Jose Rodriguez.

The defense played great as a team and flew to the ball all night and the D-line dominated. Josh Rios, Noah Rojas, Andrew Mace, Jonah Myers, Jesus Sandoval and Jose Rodriguez.


Next week SBMS will travel to Wilson Kerzee to take on Lake Belton.
