The North Belton Middle School 8th grade B team played their last game of the season on Thursday, November 2 at Lamar Middle School. Lamar won the toss and served first, but North broke the serve and tied the game at 1-1. Adriana Cabiness went on a five point serving streak to bring the score to 7-5. Kennedy Pratt went on a six point serving streak and kept North in the lead 16-7. Natalia Vazquez stepped up to serve and went on an eight point serving streak to finish the game 25-8. North won the first set. In the second set, North served first. Seleilah Jackson served four points to give North a quick lead 4-0. Ashland Reyes went on a seven point serving streak and North led 16-4. Jackson rotated back around to serve and this time added three more points, bringing the score to 22-9. Cabiness served two to finish the second set, with North winning 25-10.
The leading servers of the night were Cabiness and Vazquez. Vazquez served eight points, five were ace serves and Cabiness also served eight serves, four were aces. Jackson added seven serving points, four were ace serves. Reyes also added seven serving points, two were aces. Pratt added six serving points, four were ace serves. Lily Small added two serving points and one was an ace serve. Emily Diaz and Brooke Moger both led the team in digs with three each. Vazquez and Jackson each added two digs. Reyes, Small, and Cabiness each added one dig a piece. Offensively, Aniah Hall led the team in kills with five. Pratt added two kills, and Jackson, Reyes, and Vazquez each added one kill.
The 8B team finished their season 14-1 overall and 8-0 in district. With the win over Lamar, the 8B became DISTRICT CHAMPIONS!
