The Belton Hoops JV opened the season with a strong start. Tiger’s started the game with two long 3’s by sophomore-Tyson Pine and Junior-Hayden Lloyd. Belton continued its pressured pace causing a frenzy of turnovers, which led to many easy early baskets for the Tigers.
Waco High made a strong push in the 2nd quarter to make it a game at half time in which Belton led 27-22. But it was the Tigers 2nd half start that really made waves. The Tigers came out on a tear scoring 20 points in the quarter extending their lead. They continued this run into the 4th quarter led by their defensive pressure, high energy and extra efforts.
Tyson Pine led all scorers with a game high 21 points. Hayden Lloyd chipped in with 20 points, while other key contributors such as Josh Rardin (15 pts) and Austin Aggers (12 pts), both got into double figures.
Belton JV will be back in action Monday, November 13th at 5:00P versus University High School at Belton High School.
