The JV traveled to Austin this weekend to play in the McCallum High Tournament and came away with the Championship.
In their first game on Friday, the JV played Austin Lanier and won 31-5. Leading the team was Amaya Flores with 7 points and Campbell Burnett with 6 points.
In their second game on Friday, they faced the home team McCallum and came away with a 17-8 victory. Leading the team was Nylah Modeste with 9 points.
On Saturday, the JV would battle against Austin Westlake. In a battle of two halves, the JV trailed 14-4 at the end of the 1st half, but would stage a comeback outscoring Westlake 12-0 in the 3rd quarter and pulling out the 19-16 victory. Leading the team was Amya Flores with 5 points and Campbell Burnett with 4 points.
In the Championship Game, the Tigers would face Killeen Shoemaker and stage another comeback. Down 5-1 at the half, the JV would outscore Shoemaker 15-5 in the 2nd half to pull out the 16-11 victory. Leading the team was Campbell Burnett with 6 points and Addi Scarborough with 4 points.
The JV is now 4-1 on the season and will take on Pflugerville Connally at home on Tuesday at 5pm before traveling to Georgetown Eastview this Thursday and Saturday for a tournament.
