The Lady Tiger Soccer team faced off against some great competition this past weekend. Their tournament started against Bishop Lynch. LTS started out a little nervous and settled in to play defense. Once they realized they weren’t outmanned, they really starting getting some stellar attacks. Despite their best efforts and the loss of some players to injuries, they were unable to get a ball in the back of the net, but held Bishop Lynch scoreless. The Lady Tigers started their season 0-0-1.
Friday morning early, the Lady Tigers took on Coppel. The girls came out nervous again, and had some unfortunate errors that cost them a quick slew of goals. After some halftime adjustments and confidence, the Lady Tigers came out to win the second half 1-0 with a goal by Tiarra Hodges. Unfortunately, it was not enough to undo the mistakes of the first half, and the Lady Tigers fell 2-1.
Saturday, the Lady Tigers came out a little beat up and a few starters short, but ready to play. They played stellar defense in the first half shutting down some really good Plano West forwards. In the second half, the Lady Tigers came out with a mission and quickly scored 2 goals. The first goal was scored by Morgan Magana assisted by Tiarra Hodges, and the second goal was scored by Abby Cargile after a failed attempt to clear it by the Plano West defense. Prior to the end of the second half, Plano West was awarded a PK on a foul that no one saw which resulted in their loan goal. The Lady Tigers finished the weekend 1-1-1. Looking forward to our tournament in Round Rock.
