Boys Varsity Powerlifting · Belton competes strong at the THSPA Region 2 Championships


8 of the Belton Boys Powerlifting team competed at the THSPA Region 2 Championship this past Saturday in Burleson. The team had two 5th place finishes and a 2nd place finisher, who will be representing the Tigers at the State powerlifting meet in Abilene.

The lifters below:

Max Castelli- lifted in the 123-weight class and he totaled his personal best 855 lbs. to place 8th in the THSPA Region 2 Championship.

Christian Castillo- lifted in the 148-weight class and he totaled his personal best 1,090 lbs. to place 6th in the THSPA Region 2 Championship.

Patrick Frazho- lifted in the 148-weight class and he totaled 975 lbs. to place 10th in the THSPA Region 2 Championship.

Devyn Raper- lifted in the 165-weight class and he totaled his personal best 1,175 lbs. to place 5th in the THSPA Region 2 Championship.

Devon Taplin- lifted in the 220-weight class and competed very well leaving everything at the bar for his last powerlifting meet as a Tiger.

Devin Martinez- lifted in the 220-weight class and he totaled his personal best 1,325 lbs. to place 5th in the THSPA Region 2 Championship.

Arturo Jaimes- lifted in the 242-weight class and he totaled 1,540 lbs. to place 2nd in the THSPA Region 2 Championship as well as qualifying for the State Meet for a consecutive year.

Sidney Sherwood- lifted in the 275-weight class and he totaled 1, 345 to place 8th in the THSPA Region 2 Championship.

Arturo Jaimes will be representing the Belton Boys Powerlifting team March 24, 2018 at the Texas High School State Powerlifting in Abilene.
