The South Belton Middle School 7th grade volleyball B team lost a hard fought battle against North Belton. After losing the first set 12-25, the SBMS Lady Tigers came together as a team to win the second set 25-15, thanks to Kennedy Kopriva and Emily Higgins getting 9 and 10 serves over the net, respectively. With adrenaline pumping, the third set was neck and neck. The SBMS Tigers played extremely well by communicating, getting good passes, and winning some awesome rallies. Daphne Ortiz had an amazing dig to win a point and get the serve back. Gloria Gonzalez, Riley Burgman and Amanda De La Rosa all played a great game as our setters! Despite all of the team work and effort, the SBMS lost the third set by only 2 points, forcing North Belton to a score of 24-26. We are extremely proud of the SBMS B team’s sportsmanship and teamwork. We look forward to our bye-week next week as we rest and prepare to take on Travis on Thursday, October 4th in our PINK out game!
The South Belton Middle School 7th A Lady Tigers had a hard fought game against North Belton Middle School last night. The ladies put all their effort on the court, hustling to the ball and chasing it down. Jayla Williams was a great leader and teammate hustling to the ball, trying to put it back into play. We are very proud of the effort that the ladies gave despite losing the first set 11-25. Jayla Williams, along with Jacci Myers, had really great serves to get us a lot of points on the board in the second set. The ladies all came together and made it a great game down to the very end but lost it 25-27. A lot of the girls also gained some volleyball experience with the developmental game that ended 5-15. We are so proud with how all the ladies are gaining volleyball knowledge and learning the game. We are looking forward to them improving each week and with a bye week to rest and get ready for our next game. Don’t forget that on October 4th is our PINK out game. Be sure to wear pink!!!
