The South Belton Middle School Lady Tigers participated in a SBMS/NBMS tournament. The 7th grade A team first game was against Bonham Middle School. South Belton played great as a team the first set, keeping the game in hand winning 25-16. Bonham bounced back in the second set. Madelyn Romero had some strong serves to try to keep the Lady Tigers in the game but unfortunately lost the set 17-25. The Lady Tigers fell behind fast in the third set until Kambyl Utley and Ramsey Curran served us back in and took the set 15-8. The second game the Lady Tigers took on Lampasas Middle school. Jayla Williams had some great serves in the first set, along with Madelyn Romero. The ladies played hard but lost the first set 17-25. In the second set, The Lady Tigers played well as a team but struggled to get some passes up. They gave it everything but fell short losing the second set 17-25. In the third game, the Lady Tigers took on Salado Middle School. The Lady Tigers pushed their limits and dug deep in the first set. They battled back and forth with the lead but lost the first set 20-25. The second set, The Lady Tigers couldn’t regroup. They communicated very well but after a long weekend the ladies got tired. The lost the second set 11-25. It was a great weekend and the girls have improved so much since the start of the season. I am so impressed with how much they push themselves and how far they have come. Don’t forget to come support us this Thursday against Bonham at Bonham Middle School. GO SOUTH!!!!!
