Coed Varsity Swimming · Swimmers win 7th Consecutive District Championship setting 2 new School Records


The girls team won their 7th consecutive District Championship in a big way scoring 204.5 to the second place  142.5 from Waco Miday. The guys lost a close race to Midaway 131 to 124 coming down to the last relay to see who won the meet. Freshman Olivia Maddux reset the  girls 100 fly School Record she set in prelims with a 58.56 breaking her record from prelims of 58.87. The girls Medley Relay broke the  School Record swimming a time of 1:52.68. Olivia Maddux, Kaci Moore, Jaynie Ferguson, and Thea Lancaster swam on the  record setting Medley Relay. The swimmers came off a great prelims to drop time in many of their swims.

The girls also won the 200 medley relay, 200 free relay and the 400 free relay. The guys were 2nd in the 200 medley relay, 5th in the 200 free relay, and 2nd in the 400 free relay. Freshman Olivia Maddux was selected Outstanding Female swimmer of the meet. Coach Patrick Henry  was voted Outstanding Coach of the Meet for both the Girls, and tied in a 3 way for Outstanding Coach of  the Meet for the Guys. The girls had 23 individual swims qualify for the Regional Championships plus three relays. The guys had 13 individual swims plus three relay qualify for the Regional Championships plus three relays. Selected as Outstanding Swimmers of the Meet for Belton were Olivia Maddux, Madden Baggerly, Ethen Rodriguez, Caleb Ball.

The Regional Championships are 2/1-2 in Mansfield. The swimmers will leave for the meet 12/31 at 4:00pm.
