Boys Varsity Powerlifting · The Boys Powerlifting Team Keeps Gold in Belton


The Belton Boys Powerlifting team competed on home turf this past Saturday and finished first out of eleven teams. Lifters who finished in the top 5 of their weight class are listed below:

Ryan Merrill lifted in the 114-weight class, he squatted 190 lbs, benched pressed 120 lbs, and deadlifted 205 lbs. He totaled enough weight to place 3rd in the Belton Invitational.

Richard Willess lifted in the 123-weight class, he squatted 305 lbs, benched pressed 155 lbs, and deadlifted 320 lbs. He totaled enough weight to place 2nd in in the Belton Invitational.

Max Castelli- lifted in the 123-weight class, he squatted 370 lbs, benched pressed 190 lbs, and deadlifted 390 lbs. He totaled enough weight to place 1st in the Belton Invitational.

Andrew Medina- lifted in the 123-weight class, he squatted 275 lbs, benched pressed 120 lbs, and deadlifted 250 lbs. He totaled enough weight to place 3rd in the Belton Invitational.

Angel Longoria– lifted in the 132-weight class, he squatted 325 lbs, benched pressed 200 lbs, and deadlifted 335 lbs. He totaled enough weight to place 4th in the Belton Invitational.

Patrick Frazho lifted in the 148-weight class, he squatted 390 lbs, benched pressed 225 lbs, and deadlifted 420 lbs. He placed 4th in the Belton Invitational.

Christian Castillo lifted in the 148-weight class, he squatted 400 lbs, benched pressed 240 lbs, and deadlifted 440 lbs. He placed 3rd in the Belton Invitational.

Samuel Garcia lifted in the 165-weight class, he squatted 410 lbs, benched pressed 270 lbs, and deadlifted 465 lbs. He placed 4th in the Belton Invitational.

Devyn Raper lifted in the 165-weight class, he squatted 405 lbs, benched pressed 275 lbs, and deadlifted 485 lbs. He placed 2nd in the Belton Invitational.

Also in the 165-weight class, Angelo Sibile, squatted 430 lbs, benched pressed 280 lbs, and deadlifted 445 lbs. He totaled enough weight to place 3rd in the Belton Invitational.

Keaton Kaulfus lifted in the 198-weight class, he squatted 435 lbs, benched pressed 300 lbs, and deadlifted 455 lbs. He placed 2nd in the Belton Invitational.

Randy Schoolcraft lifted in the 198-weight class, he squatted 400 lbs, benched pressed 265 lbs, and deadlifted 355 lbs. He placed 5th in the Belton Invitational.

Devin Martinez lifted in the 220-weight class, he squatted 500 lbs, benched pressed 300 lbs, and deadlifted 535 lbs. He placed 1st in the Belton Invitational.

Also in the 220-weight class, Jawaun Howard, squatted 440 lbs, benched pressed 360 lbs, and deadlifted 450 lbs. He placed 2nd in the Belton Invitational.

Also in the 220-weight class, Tim Apodaca, squatted 500 lbs, benched pressed 265 lbs, and deadlifted 430 lbs. He placed 4th in the Belton Invitational.

Sidney Sherwood- lifted in the 275- weight class, he squatted 610 lbs, benched pressed 390 lbs, and deadlifted 440 lbs. He placed 2nd in the Belton Invitational.

The Tigers will be back under the bar of competition January 26, 2019 at Georgetown High School.
