Belton 9 White 30 Harker Heights 56

The Freshman White traveled to Harker Heights Saturday for a pair of games against Shoemaker and Waco. The Tigers first game was versus Shoemaker. The White team played well defensively and was able to keep things interesting against a good Shoemaker team. The first quarter would end with Shoemaker up 11-10. The second quarter Shoemaker went on a run and lead 20-11 before Braydon Stewart hit back to back threes to draw the Tigers within three. Shoemaker would take a 23-17 lead into halftime. The third quarter the Tigers would let the game get away from them. Shoemaker would outscore the Tiger 18 -4 and opened a 41-21 lead going into the final quarter. The Tigers would play better in the fourth but this would not be their game, as they would drop their first game 56-30. Top Scorers- Aaron Rhoads 7, Braxton Haynes 6, Braydon Stewart 6, Rayford Pete 5, John Colambo 2, Cedric Alexander 2 and Cooper McCarley 2.


Belton 9 White 36 Waco High 32

In the second game Belton White would take on Waco. The Tigers and Lions both shot well in the first quarter but the Lions lead 12-10 at the end of one. The second quarter both teams went cold and neither team could score. The Tigers would go into halftime tied 14-14. The Tigers would take their first lead of the game in the third. The Tigers lead by as much as 8 in the quarter and looked like they would put the game away as they went to the fourth quarter with a 24-17 lead. The Lions would make a comeback in the fourth. Outscoring the Tiger 12-5 and completing the comeback and forcing overtime by the score of 29-29. In Overtime the Tigers would take care of business and take the lead early and would not look back. They would outscore the Lions 7-3 in overtime and pick up their first district win on the season by the score of 36-32. Top Scorers- Braxton Haynes 16, Cedric Alexander 6, Ben Curran 6, Aaron Rhoads 4, John Colambo 3 and Rayford Pete 1.

The Tigers will play two games next Saturday in Belton.
