Belton Middle School golf continued this year’s success at the Midway Middle School Invitational at Cottonwood Creek Golf Course yesterday (3/26/2019). They boys kept up the winning pace by posting a 168 which was good enough to defeat Midway’s first team by 32 strokes. Winning his third individual first place title of the year Chandler Cooke turned in a score of 35, or one under par for the back nine at Cottonwood. Earning 2nd place honors, Colby Connor brought in an impressive 41. Hutton Hoelscher carded a very nice 45 for a tie for third place overall. Hayden Nix and James Bond rounded out the first place team. Belton’s second team also played well with great contributions from Shrey Gupta and Jaxon Berryman.
The young ladies also kept up their pace by bringing home their third straight first place trophy. The team total of 217 beat the girls from Copperas Cove by two strokes. The lady middle school tigers were led by Lauren Hale who turned in a very nice 46, Tiffany Lange posted a strong 50, and Grace Bartley shot a very nice round of 55. Rounding out the first team Kaitlyn Williams and Kinsley Lavery also had great scores to help earn another victory.
The Belton Middle School Golfers are looking forward to their next tournament at The Hills of Cove Golf Course next Thursday, April 4th 2019.
