The Lady Tiger golf team competed at the Regional Tournament at Cottonwood Creek in Waco. The first round was rained out on Wednesday April 24 and the competition was reduced to a one-day tournament on Thursday April 25.
The ladies shot a good round despite the soggy, wet conditions. Senior Julia Garcia shot a team best 78. It was a good round but unfortunately was 4 strokes shy of qualifying for state. Freshman Kennedy Tidwell and Junior Brooklyn Winkler both shot 89, Sophomore Grace Pohl shot a 93, and Freshman Riley Avery with a 110. The team score of 349 was good enough to place 9th out of 16 teams.
This was a great showing by the team and one to be very proud of. We want to congratulate Senior Julia Garcia for a tremendous career and wish her good luck next year playing golf at Dallas Baptist University. Our program is in a better place because of Julia, and we look forward to a productive summer to improve next year!
