The girls basketball teams traveled to Vandegrift on Tuesday for a scrimmage with Marble Falls and Vandegrift. The JV and Freshman got things started and battled hard. Both teams excelled on the defensive ends but on the offensive end struggled a times scoring. The girls are working very hard and improvement was seen from the previous scrimmage. The freshman team is starting to learn one another and gain more chemistry on the court. Trinity Fly and Rebekah Bledsoe showed on court leadership. The girls are working hard to improve and are looking forward to a great year.
The JV is coming together and beginning to grasp what we want to do on the court. They continue to improve and gain confidence. The JV players that performed well was Jazz’ria Gossett, Mya Matulik, Madison Lux, Brooke Genera and Sydni Cartwright.
In the varsity scrimmage the team played 4 quarters, 2 quarters each against Vandegrift and Marble Falls. In 3 of the 4 quarters the team played strong defense and limited the opponents to scoring in the single digits. On the offensive end, the team is coming together and getting much better at recognizing scoring opportunities. The entire team is getting better and showing great promise and improvement.
The teams travel to Bryan Rudder on Friday for their first game of the season. The Freshman and JV will begin at 5:00pm with the varsity to follow at 6:30pm
