Girls Varsity Powerlifting · Hard Work, Grit, and Determination Fuel Lady Tiger Victory at Georgetown

The Lady Tigers traveled to Georgetown on Saturday with some new faces in the lineup, but they brought the same mentality as always.  It didn’t matter how, but one could tell pretty early in the meet that these ladies were determined to win.  When the dust settled at the end of the day, that’s exactly what happened.  The Lady Tigers earned their third straight victory of the 2020 season with a close victory against outstanding competition.

The Lady Tigers were led by first place finishes from team captain Kyndall Carroll (165) and talented newcomer Raquelle Chandarlis (123).  Not far behind were five hard earned second place finishes.  Angel Urutia (105), Stephanny Ruiz (132), Maya Jones (148), Rylee Pratt (181), and Bethany Sherwood (220) all brought home silver medals.  Lya Gascon (105), Selena Giron (114), Kassondra Bengston (132), and Bryce Bourland (198) also contributed with medals for the Lady Tigers.  All of the girls who competed worked extremely hard all day to make this victory possible.

There are only two more meets in the regular season, and competition is getting heated for spots at the regional meet.  The Lady Tigers will lift again on Thursday evening, February 6 at Temple High School as the girls look to gain momentum for Regionals and beyond!  Please come root on your favorite lifters as they compete against outstanding opponents from the Central Texas area.
