The Lady Tiger Powerlifters needed every pound of every lift to squeeze out a victory against tough competition at the Temple Invitational Powerlifting Meet on Thursday night. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Lady Tigers this season. There were some outstanding individual efforts as the lifters make their final push to qualify for the regional meet. Selena Giron (114), Kyndall Carroll (165), and Bethany Sherwood (220) all came home with gold medals for the Lady Tigers.
The Lady Tigers were also helped with second place finishes from Alyssa Diaz (114), Stephanny Ruiz (132), Shalese Rhoder (165), Rylee Pratt (181), Bryce Bourland (198), and Marryah Smith McCarthy (259). Third place finishers included Gracie Martone (97), Angel Urutia (105), Mia Guerrero (114), Raquelle Chandarlis (123), Kassondra Bengston (132), Maya Jones (148), and Sadie Rhoder (181). Other medalists included Lya Gascon (105) and Shaniyah Thomas (220). The Lady Tigers will be in action again at Copperas Cove next Thursday in their final regular season meet of the season. Be sure to come watch as the ladies make their final push to secure a spot in regionals.
