Boys Junior Varsity Basketball · JV can’t shrug off rough first quarter, fall to Midway JV, 56-42

The Belton JV Tigers hosted the Midway JV Panthers at Tiger Gym on Tuesday night.

The Tigers mustered just five points in the first quarter, as the Panthers took advantage of miscues to get by Belton, 56-42.

Midway led after the first quarter, 12-5, and held the lead at halftime, 22-16.

The Panthers outscored the Tigers 15-11 in the third quarter and extended their lead to 10 points at the end of the first 24 minutes, 37-27.

Midway outscored the Tigers in the final quarter, 19-15, to win the game by 14 points,

Tyler Tingle scored 12 points, all on three-pointers, to lead the Tigers. Eric Shorter contributed 10 points for Belton, who travels to Copperas Cove on Friday night.
