Lady Tigers,

Wow, what a season!  I know this year did not go as we were planning.  Having a virus cut our season short hurts and is frustrating, but keeping everyone healthy and safe is always our most important priority.  I want you to know that your coaches were very excited for district and had great expectations.  We knew it was going to be a great year with great results.  We just hate that we did not get to show everyone.  All three teams were showing great results, improving through the year, and working to show how great Belton Track is and how bright of a future we have as a program.

To our seniors, please know we hate that your last season ended in this crazy way.  You have been a big part of the program and the success we have had throughout the years and building for our future.  Thank you for your commitment, hard work, and dedication to the track program.  You have set a great example for the younger athletes and have represented this program very well. We wish you the best and good luck with your next adventure in life.

To our underclassmen going to Lake Belton next year, we will miss you.  You are getting to be the building blocks for a brand new program, and I know the coaches are lucky to have you.  You worked hard this year and it showed when you competed.  Keep working, keep pushing, and don’t hold back.  Show them what you can do!  Build that program with hard work, dedication, and pride.  Good luck! You will do great!

To our returning Belton High athletes, get ready… we have unfinished business.  This year was cut short, and we are ready to start next year to show everyone our amazing Lady Tiger track team. We have two things we would like for you to do to help continue the track success and get us ready for the 2021 season.  First, we encourage you to come to the summer workouts.  The workout schedule should be posted once we know what we are allowed to do this summer.  We still want everyone to be safe and healthy, but we also want you to be able to prepare for the next season. These workouts are not designed to bulk you up, but to provide strength to help increase your speed.  These workouts will be a great way to start our season off right and we will continue when school starts!  Second, you may not like this one, but… we encourage you to run cross country.  I know, I know – only long distance people like running for that long… or I’m a sprinter, not a long distance runner, but this will help you greatly.  I’m not asking you to go out and win, but you may be surprised at your success.  This is a great way to get in shape so that it is easier to get you in track shape and get those times dropped.  Don’t be afraid to push yourself to help become the best you can be.  We have a bright future, and we can’t wait to see you back in action next year!

We know Lady Tiger track is going to do great things next year and we can’t wait to see it happen. Please know we miss you and hate we didn’t get to complete our season.  We can’t wait to see you and get back to work!
