Our Belton Tigers Varsity Swim team once again outperformed their competitors. The girl’s team came in first place for points and the boy’s team placed second over McNeil. Both girl’s and boy’s 200 Medley Relay teams placed 3rd. Maddie Vacula swam to first place in the 200 Freestyle (2:04), Liana Planz placed 2nd in the 200 Individual Medley (2:21) and Thomas Nelson placed 3rd (2:21:75). Olivia Maddux won the 50 Freestyle (26:35) and Caleb Bovell placed 4th with a 23:8. Olivia and Liana also placed 2nd and 3rd in the 100 Butterfly with times of 1:02.9 and 1:03.2 and Ryan McKenzie placed 3rd in the boy’s event with a time of :57.4. Savannah Upton swam a personal best time in the 100 Freestyle with a 59.6, and Thomas Nelson tied for 2nd with a lighting fast 52.1! Kole Petersen knocked out a fast 5:18 in the 500 Freestyle for 2nd. In the 100 Backstroke, Maddie Vacula grabbed another 1st with a 1:05.6 and Ryan McKenzie placed 2rd with a 1:02.5. These Belton Tigers have had an outstanding season so far. Our District Swim meet will be at home on January 23rd where the Tigers take on Temple, Copperas Cove, Killeen ISD and Midway for the championship!
