The Lady Tigers came out pumped for their last official home game at Wilson-Kerzee field, Tuesday night. Vandergrift had kickoff and immediately took possession and offensive control of the game. However, the Tigers were aggressive and resilient in their defensive efforts. towards the middle of the first half after a clearing kick by Rebecca Frias, Journie Diaz was able to make a run for the goal in which she was fouled inside the penalty box. This set up a penalty kick for the Lady Tigers, that Darbi Corber was able to capitalize on with a goal. The Lady Tigers were able to hold off the Lady Vipers with great defense and 8 stops by goalie Morgan Madetske. Halftime score was Belton 1and Vandergrift 0.
Coming out the half the Vipers brought aggression and hunger and got a quick goal off a Lady Tiger defensive miscue. However, the Lady Tigers rallied with the help of 6 stops from goalie Morgan Madetske to hold the Vipers to that one single goal.
Final score ended in a tie of 1-1, which was an amazing accomplishment for the Lady Tigers.
